How to operate module 3246

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until SET Hold disappears and the city code flashes.
  2. Use A and C to pick your Home City first.
  3. Press D to move through the settings: DST, 12/24-hour format, seconds, hour, minutes, the date, then the button tone, light, power saving and units screens.
  4. On the seconds, press A to reset them to 00; on the 12/24-hour format, press A to switch.
  5. On the hour, minutes, year, month or day, use A (+) and C (-).
  6. Press E twice to leave the setting screen.

Good to know

In 12-hour format, P marks p.m. times.

Daylight saving time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until SET Hold disappears and the city code flashes.
  2. Press D to show the DST setting.
  3. Press A to switch between OFF and On.
  4. Press E twice to go back. The DST indicator shows while summer time is on.

Good to know

If the time is off by one hour, you may need to change this setting.

DST cannot be switched while UTC is the Home City.

Home City

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until SET Hold disappears and the city code flashes.
  2. Press A to move east or C to move west until your city code shows.
  3. Press E twice to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

World Time and sunrise/sunset data are worked out from the Home City, time and date, so set these correctly.

Set an alarm

  1. Press D until the Alarm Mode (ALM) shows.
  2. Use A and C to pick the alarm, AL1 to AL5.
  3. Hold E until SET Hold disappears and the alarm time flashes.
  4. Use A (+) and C (-) to set the hour, press D to move to the minutes, and set them the same way.
  5. Press E to leave.

Good to know

In the Alarm Mode, press B to turn the shown alarm or the hourly signal (SIG) on or off; hold A to test the sound.

In 12-hour format, check the P indicator so the alarm is set for a.m. or p.m. as you intend.

Light

  1. Press L in any mode to light the display.
  2. For the auto light, hold L for about three seconds in the Timekeeping Mode; A.EL shows while it is on.
  3. To change the duration: in the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until the city code flashes, then keep pressing D until LT1 or LT3 shows.
  4. Press A to switch between one second (LT1) and three seconds (LT3), then press E twice to leave.

Good to know

The auto light only works in low light, when you tilt the watch towards your face.

Button beep

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until SET Hold disappears and the city code flashes.
  2. Keep pressing D until KEY♪ or MUTE shows in the upper left corner.
  3. Press A to switch between KEY♪ (beep on) and MUTE (beep off).
  4. Press E twice to leave.

Good to know

Alarms, the hourly signal and the timer alarm still sound with the beep off.

Countdown timer

  1. Press D until the Countdown Timer Mode (TMR) shows.
  2. Hold E until SET Hold disappears and the hour setting flashes.
  3. Press D to move between hours and minutes, and use A (+) and C (-) to set them.
  4. Press E to leave the setting screen.
  5. Press A to start and stop the countdown; while stopped, press C to reset it.

Good to know

Setting 0H 00'00 gives a 24-hour countdown; the alarm sounds for five seconds at the end.
