Casio module 3258

Solar powered module. 3258 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 2 watches in the catalog run on it.

How to operate module 3258

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until SET Hold appears and the city code starts to flash.
  2. Press D to move through the settings: city code, DST, 12/24-hour format, seconds, hour, minutes, the date, then the button tone, light, power saving and units screens.
  3. On the seconds, press A to reset them to 00; on the 12/24-hour format, press A to switch.
  4. On the hour, minutes, year, month or day, use A (+) and C (-).
  5. Press E to leave the setting screen.

Good to know

Manual setting is for when the watch cannot receive a time calibration signal.

Resetting the seconds between 30 and 59 adds one minute.

Daylight saving time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until SET Hold appears and the city code starts to flash.
  2. Press D to show the DST setting.
  3. Press A to cycle through AUTO, OFF and ON.
  4. Press E to leave. The DST indicator shows while summer time is on.

Good to know

AUTO is only offered when the Home City is one that can receive a time calibration signal; the signal then switches DST for you.

DST cannot be switched while UTC is the Home City.

Home City

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until SET Hold appears and the city code starts to flash.
  2. Use A (east) and C (west) to scroll to your city code.
  3. Press E to leave the setting screen.

Good to know

If the time is off by several hours, the Home City may be wrong.

Some city codes also let the watch receive the time calibration signal for that area.

Set an alarm

  1. Press D until the Alarm Mode (ALM) shows.
  2. Use A and C to pick the alarm, AL1 to AL5.
  3. Hold E until SET Hold appears and the alarm time starts to flash.
  4. Use A (+) and C (-) to set the hour, press D to move to the minutes, and set them the same way.
  5. Press E to leave.

Good to know

In the Alarm Mode, press B to turn the shown alarm or the hourly signal (SIG) on or off.

In 12-hour format, check the P indicator so the alarm is set for a.m. or p.m. as you intend.

  1. Press L in any mode to light the display.
  2. For the auto light, hold L for about three seconds in the Timekeeping Mode to switch it on or off.
  3. To change the duration: in the Timekeeping Mode, hold E until the city code flashes, then press D until LT1 or LT3 shows.
  4. Press A to switch between 1.5 seconds (LT1) and three seconds (LT3), then press E to leave.

Good to know

The auto light only works in low light, when you tilt the watch more than 40 degrees towards you.
