Casio module 3277

Quartz module. 3277 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 3277

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds flash.
  2. Press C to step through the settings: seconds, DST, UTC offset, hour, minutes, year, month, day, Flash Alert, then back to the seconds. Set the UTC offset before the time.
  3. On the seconds, press D to reset them to 00.
  4. On the hour, minutes, year, month or day, press D (+) or B (-) to change it (hold for fast).
  5. Press A to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

Resetting the seconds between 30 and 59 adds one minute; between 00 and 29 the minutes stay as they are.

The year runs from 2000 to 2099; the day of the week follows the date by itself.

12/24-hour format: in the Timekeeping Mode, press D to switch. In 12-hour format, P marks noon to 11:59 p.m.; the format applies in all modes.

Left for two or three minutes with a setting flashing, the watch leaves the setting screen by itself.

Daylight saving time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds flash.
  2. Press C once: the DST setting shows.
  3. Press D to switch between ON (summer time) and OFF (standard time).
  4. Press A to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

The DST indicator shows while summer time is on; summer time is one hour ahead of standard time.

For a World Time city: in the World Time Mode, press D until the city shows, then hold A for about one second to switch it between summer time (DST shows) and standard time. This changes only that city.

Home City time zone

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds flash.
  2. Press C twice: the UTC offset flashes.
  3. Press D (+) or B (-) until the UTC offset of your time zone shows.
  4. Press A to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

The watch has no Home City list: it keeps time for a UTC offset, from -12.0 to +14.0 in half hours (-11.0 to +15.0 while DST is on). The offsets of the cities are in the City Code Table at the back of the manual.

The World Time is worked out from the Timekeeping time and the UTC offset, so set the offset before the time; if a World Time city shows the wrong time, check both.
