Casio module 3410

Solar powered module. 3410 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 3410

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date by hand

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E for at least two seconds: SET and Hold show, then Hold goes; release E then. The city code flashes.
  2. Press D to step through the settings: city code, DST, 12/24-hour format, seconds, hour, minutes, year, month, day, button tone, light duration, power saving, then display units.
  3. On the 12/24-hour format, press A to switch between 12H and 24H.
  4. On the seconds, press A to reset them to 00.
  5. On the hour, minutes, year, month or day, press A to go up and C to go down.
  6. Press E twice to leave the setting screen.

Good to know

Setting by hand is for when the watch cannot pick up a time calibration signal; set the Home City first.

Resetting the seconds between 30 and 59 adds one minute.

In 12-hour format, P marks p.m.

Hold D for about two seconds in any mode to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Daylight saving time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E for at least two seconds until Hold goes, then release it: the city code flashes.
  2. Press D once: the DST setting shows.
  3. Press A to cycle through AUTO (switched by the time signal), OFF (standard time) and ON (summer time).
  4. Press E twice to leave. The DST indicator shows while summer time is on.

Good to know

AUTO is only offered when the Home City is one that can receive a time calibration signal.

DST cannot be switched while UTC is the Home City.

If the time is off by one hour, check the DST setting.

From Casio's guide, page E-31

Home City

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E for at least two seconds until Hold goes, then release it: the city code flashes.
  2. Press A (east) or C (west) to scroll through the city codes.
  3. Press E twice to leave.

Good to know

If the time is off by hours, the Home City may be wrong.

Some city codes let the watch receive the time calibration signal for that area.

Set an alarm

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, press D until the Alarm Mode shows (ALM, after the World Time, Stopwatch and Countdown Timer Modes).
  2. Press A to step through AL-1, AL-2, AL-3, AL-4, SNZ (the snooze alarm) and SIG (the hourly signal) until the alarm you want shows.
  3. Hold E until SET Hold shows and the settings flash.
  4. Press D to move between the hour and the minutes; press A to go up and C to go down (in 12-hour format, mind a.m. or p.m.: P marks p.m.).
  5. Press E to leave. Setting a time switches that alarm on.
  6. To switch an alarm or the hourly signal on or off, select it with A and press C.

Good to know

An alarm sounds for about 10 seconds in any mode; press any button to stop it.

The snooze alarm repeats about every five minutes, up to seven times; SNZ flashes until it is done. Turning it off or opening its setting screen cancels it.

Light

  1. Press L in any mode to light the display.
  2. To change the duration: in the Timekeeping Mode, hold E for at least two seconds until Hold goes, release it, then press D until LIGHT shows.
  3. Press A to switch between 1.5 seconds (1) and three seconds (3), then press E twice to leave.
  4. Auto light (the display lights when you tilt the watch towards your face): in the Timekeeping Mode, hold L for at least three seconds to turn it on or off; LT shows while it is on.

Good to know

Auto light only works in low light, and not while an alarm sounds.

Auto light turns itself off when the battery drops to Level 4.

Frequent use of the light runs down the battery.

  4. For a split time, press C while it runs (SPLIT shows); press C again to let the display catch up.
