Casio module 3443

Solar powered module. 3443 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 3443

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold E for at least two seconds: SET Hold flashes, then CITY shows; keep holding until the city code and name start to scroll.
  2. Check the Home City first: press A (east) or C (west) until your city code shows.
  3. Press D to step through the settings: city code, DST, 12/24-hour format, seconds, hour, minutes, year, month, day, button tone, light duration, Power Saving, display units, then back to the city code.
  4. On the 12/24-hour format, press A to switch between 12H and 24H.
  5. On the seconds, press A to reset them to 00.
  6. On the hour, minutes, year, month or day, press A (+) or C (-) to change it (hold for fast).
  7. Press E twice to leave the setting screen.

Good to know

Resetting the seconds between 30 and 59 adds one minute.

In 12-hour format, P marks noon to 11:59 p.m.

The calendar allows for month lengths and leap years; the day of the week follows the date by itself.

When the battery falls to Level 5 or is replaced, the settings go back to their factory defaults; set the time and date again once it has charged to Level 2 (M).

From any mode, hold D for about two seconds to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Left for two or three minutes with a setting flashing, the watch leaves the setting screen by itself.

  2. Press D once: the DST setting shows.
  3. Press A to switch between ON (summer time) and OFF (standard time).
  4. Press E twice to leave the setting screen.

Good to know

The DST indicator shows while summer time is on.

Summer time cannot be switched while UTC is the Home City.

For a World Time city: in the World Time Mode, press A or C until the city shows, then hold E for at least two seconds until DST Hold ON or DST Hold OFF flashes; this switches that city between summer time and standard time. It cannot be done for UTC.

To switch an alarm or the hourly time signal (SIG) on or off, pick it with A or C in the Alarm Mode and press B.

The alarm on indicator shows in all modes while any alarm is on.

Left for about three minutes without a button press, the Alarm Mode goes back to the Timekeeping Mode by itself.

  3. Auto light (the display lights when you tilt the watch towards you by more than 40 degrees): in the Timekeeping Mode, hold L for at least three seconds to switch it on or off; LT shows in all modes while it is on.

Good to know

The auto light works only when it is dark enough, and not while an alarm sounds or during compass calibration. It turns itself off when the battery falls to Level 4.

Turn the auto light off before riding a bicycle or a motorcycle or driving.

The light goes off when an alarm sounds. Frequent use runs down the battery.
