Casio module 5405

Quartz module. 5405 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 5405

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and day

  1. Wait until the second hand reaches 12 o'clock, then pull the crown out to the second click.
  2. Turn the crown to set the time. Go four or five minutes past the time you want, then turn back to it.
  3. Push the crown back in.
  4. To set the day, pull the crown out to the first click, turn it to change the day, then push it back in.

Good to know

Mind a.m. or p.m. when you set the time.

The day indicator counts 31 days a month; correct it after shorter months.

Do not change the day between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m., or it may not change correctly at midnight.

Some models (100 m and 200 m water resistance) have a screw-in crown: unscrew it towards you before pulling it out and screw it fully back in afterwards; the watch is not water resistant while it is loose.

Light

  1. Hold L to light the dial; it stays on while you hold it.

Good to know

The light goes off about four seconds after you let go of L.

It may be hard to see in direct sunlight, and frequent use runs down the battery.
