Casio module 5565

Quartz module. 5565 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 5565

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds flash.
  2. Press B to step through the settings: seconds, DST, hour, minutes, year, month, then day.
  3. On the seconds, press D to reset them to 00.
  4. On the DST setting, press D to switch between ON and OFF.
  5. On the hour, minutes, year, month or day, press D to go up and C to go down.
  6. Press A to leave the setting screen.
  7. To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, press D in the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

This sets the digital time only. After changing the hour, minutes or DST, set the analog hands too (see the hands task); resetting only the seconds moves the minute hand by itself.

Resetting the seconds between 30 and 59 adds one minute.

In 12-hour format, P marks p.m.

Daylight saving time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds flash.
  2. Press B once to reach the DST setting.
  3. Press D to switch between ON (summer time) and OFF (standard time).
  4. Press A to leave. The DST indicator shows while summer time is on.

Good to know

This changes the digital time only; set the analog hands afterwards (see the hands task).

World Time has its own DST setting, made in the World Time Mode.

Set an alarm

  1. Press B until the Alarm Mode shows (after the Telememo and World Time Modes).
  2. Press D to step through SNZ (the snooze alarm), AL1 and AL2 until the alarm you want shows.
  3. Hold A until the hour flashes; this also turns the alarm on.
  4. Press D to go up and C to go down; press B to move between the hour and the minutes.
  5. Press A to leave.

Good to know

In 12-hour format, mind a.m. or p.m.: P marks p.m.

An alarm sounds for about 10 seconds; press any button to stop it. The snooze alarm repeats every five minutes, seven times in all, or until you turn it off.

In the Alarm Mode, press A on an alarm or SIG to turn it on or off; hold D to test the sound.

The alarms follow the digital time, not the hands.

Set the analog hands

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, press B six times to reach the Hand Setting Mode (H-S).
  2. Hold A until the digital time flashes.
  3. Press D to move the hands forward 20 seconds at a time (hold for fast) until they show the digital time.
  4. For a long way, press D and C together: the hands keep moving fast until you press any button (they stop by themselves after 12 hours).
  5. Press A to leave the setting screen, then B to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

The analog hands and the digital time are set separately; do this when the hands do not match the digital display.

Light

  1. Press C in any mode to light the display for about one second (not while a setting screen is shown).

Good to know

The light turns off when an alarm sounds, and frequent use runs down the battery.
