Casio module 5625

Solar powered module. 5625 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 5625

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Calendar Mode (normal timekeeping), unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click: the second hand points at the Home City time zone.
  2. Hold C for at least one second: the second hand moves to 12 o'clock. Turn the crown to set the minutes.
  3. Press C: the hour hand moves slightly. Turn the crown to set the hour.
  4. Press C and turn the crown to point the second hand at the tens digit of the year.
  5. Press C and turn the crown to point the second hand at the ones digit of the year.
  6. Press C and turn the crown to set the month.
  7. Press C: the mode hand moves slightly. Turn the crown to set the day.
  8. Push the crown back in on a time signal, at the top of a minute, and screw it in.
  9. To take the time from a paired phone instead: with CASIO WATCHES running and the phone within one meter, in the Calendar Mode hold B for at least 0.5 seconds and release it as soon as the second hand points to C.
  10. To take the time from the radio signal now (only when the watch is not paired with a phone): put the watch near a window, enter the Calendar Mode and hold B for at least 0.5 seconds until the second hand points to RC.

Good to know

Paired with a phone running CASIO WATCHES, the watch sets itself automatically; otherwise it can set itself from a radio time signal received between midnight and 5 a.m. Setting it by hand is for when you can do neither.

Changing the time setting by hand cancels automatic summer time switching.

Changing the day makes the mode hand rotate repeatedly.

With no operation for about two minutes after you pull out the crown, the crown stops working; push it in and pull it out again.

Turning the crown quickly a few times starts fast forward or reverse; turn it the other way or press any button to stop.

Summer time

  1. In the Calendar Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click: the mode hand points at the summer time setting of the Home City.
  2. Hold A for at least one second to move to the next setting: STD (always standard time), DST (always summer time) or AT (Auto). Repeat until the one you want shows.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it in.

Good to know

AT can be selected only when the Home City time zone is one where a time signal can be received. With AT, the watch switches at the first signal reception after summer time starts or ends.

With a paired phone, the Home City summer time setting can also be changed in the CASIO WATCHES app.

The Dual Time has its own summer time setting: with the crown at the first click, hold A for at least one second to cycle it.

From Casio's guide, page 9

Home City time zone

  1. In the Calendar Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click: the second hand points at the current time zone, shown as an offset from 12 o'clock (12 o'clock is plus or minus 0 hours).
  2. Turn the crown to move the second hand to the time zone you want (see the City (Time Zone) List in the manual).
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it in.

Good to know

If you do not set the time zone where you use the watch, the time will not be correct after a time signal adjustment.

To swap the Home City time and the Dual Time, hold A for at least three seconds in the Calendar Mode.

To set the Dual Time zone: in the Calendar Mode pull the crown out to the first click, turn it to choose the zone, then push it back in.

Set an alarm

  1. Press C until the mode hand points to AL (Alarm Mode), after the Stopwatch and Timer Modes.
  2. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first click: this switches the alarm on.
  3. Turn the crown to set the alarm time on the small hour and minute hands; check the small 24-hour hand for a.m. or p.m.
  4. Push the crown back in and screw it in.
  5. To switch the alarm off or on: in the Alarm Mode press B; each press toggles the second hand between OFF and ON.

Good to know

The alarm sounds for 10 seconds; press any button to stop it.

The beeper is muted when the charge is low or the watch is at Level 3 power saving.

Hold C for at least one second to go back to the Calendar Mode from any mode.

You can also set the alarm with the CASIO WATCHES app.

Realign the hands

  1. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click.
  2. Hold B for at least five seconds and release it when the second hand reaches 12 o'clock: the hour, minute, second and 24-hour hands align themselves.
  3. Press C and check that the small hour, small minute and small 24-hour hands stop at 12 o'clock; if not, turn the crown to put them there.
  4. Press C and check that the mode hand stops at 12 o'clock and the day shows properly; if not, turn the crown to bring the mode hand to 12 o'clock and the day to the center of its window.
  5. If you cannot get them right that way, press C and turn the crown until the day indicator shows 1, with the mode hand at 12 o'clock.
  6. Push the crown back in and screw it in.

Good to know

Strong magnetism or a knock can put the hands or the day indicator out of alignment. With a paired phone, the CASIO WATCHES app can also realign them.

With the crown out for about 30 minutes and no operation, the adjustment stops; push the crown in and start again.

After a date change the mode hand may keep rotating for about five minutes.

Light

  1. Press A: the LED lights the face for about three seconds.

Good to know

The light does not work in the Stopwatch Mode and the Timer Mode, or while the hands move at high speed.

It turns off by itself when an alarm starts to sound.

From Casio's guide, page 5

Stopwatch

  1. Press C until the mode hand points to ST (Stopwatch Mode).
  2. Press A to start, A to stop, A again to resume.
  3. When it is stopped, press B to reset it to all zeros.

Good to know

It counts in seconds up to 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds.

Hold C for at least one second to go back to the Calendar Mode.

From Casio's guide, page 15

Timer

  1. Press C until the mode hand points to TR (Timer Mode).
  2. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first click, then turn it to set the start time in 1-minute units, up to 24 hours.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it in.
  4. Press A to start the countdown. Press A to pause it; when it is paused, press B to reset it to the start time.
  5. When the countdown ends, a beeper sounds for 10 seconds; press any button to stop it.

Good to know

For a 24-hour start time, set the small hour and minute hands to 12 o'clock so the small 24-hour hand points to 24.

The beeper is muted when the charge is low. You can also set the timer with the CASIO WATCHES app.

From Casio's guide, page 15

Factory reset

  1. In the Calendar Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click.
  2. Hold C for at least five seconds, until the second hand points to 12 o'clock twice.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it in.

Good to know

This returns the watch settings, stopwatch, timer and alarm to factory defaults.

To delete the phone pairing from the watch instead: in the Calendar Mode pull the crown out to the second click, hold B for at least 10 seconds until the second hand points to C, then push the crown back in. Also unpair it in the CASIO WATCHES app.
