How to operate module 5637

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the flashing SET Hold disappears and the city code flashes.
  2. Check the Home City first: press D or B until your city code shows.
  3. Press C to step through the settings: Home City, DST, 12/24-hour format, seconds, hour, minutes, year, month, day, button tone, light duration, then back to the Home City.
  4. On the 12/24-hour format, press D to switch between 12H and 24H.
  5. On the seconds, press D to reset them to 00.
  6. On the hour, minutes, year, month or day, press D to go up or B to go down (hold for fast).
  7. Press A to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

Resetting the seconds between 30 and 59 adds one minute.

The calendar allows for month lengths and leap years; the day of the week follows the date by itself.

In 12-hour format, P marks p.m.

In the Timekeeping Mode, press B to switch the display between the day and date and the hour, minutes and seconds.

From any mode, hold C for at least two seconds to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Left for two or three minutes with a setting flashing, the watch leaves the setting screen by itself.

If the hands and the digital time differ, realign the hands (Realign the hands, page E-48).

From Casio's guide, page E-19

Daylight saving time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the flashing SET Hold disappears and the city code flashes.
  2. Press C once: the DST setting shows.
  3. Press D to switch between ON (summer time) and OFF (standard time).
  4. Press A to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

The DST indicator shows while summer time is on.

Summer time cannot be switched while UTC is the Home City.

If the time is one hour off, the Home City DST setting may need changing.

For a World Time city: in the World Time Mode, press D until the city shows, then hold A for at least two seconds to switch it between summer time (DST shows) and standard time. This changes only that city and cannot be done for UTC.

From Casio's guide, page E-18

Home City

  2. Press D (+) or B (-) until the code of your city shows (hold for fast).
  3. Press A to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

The city codes are in the City Code Table at the back of the manual.

In the Timekeeping Mode, press A to see the code and name of your Home City.

  3. Hold A until the flashing SET Hold disappears and the hour flashes, then let go.
  4. Press D (+) or B (-) to set the hour; press C to move to the minutes and set them the same way. In 12-hour format, P marks p.m.
  5. Press A to leave the setting screen.
  6. Check the display: ON or OFF shows next to the alarm time. If it shows OFF, press B to switch the alarm on.
  7. Hold C for at least two seconds to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

Each alarm sounds for about 10 seconds every day at the set time; press any button to stop it.

Hourly time signal: in the Alarm Mode, press D until SIG shows, then press B to switch it on or off.

The alarm on indicator shows in all modes while any alarm is on.

In the Alarm Mode, hold D to test the alarm.

Left for two or three minutes without a button press, the Alarm Mode goes back to the Timekeeping Mode by itself.

Realign the hands

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold A for at least five seconds and let go when 0:00 flashes.
  2. If the hour and minute hands are not at 12 o'clock, press D (+) or B (-) until they are (hold for fast).
  3. Press A to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.
  4. Check that the hands show the same time as the digital display; if not, do it again.

Good to know

Needed only when strong magnetism or impact has left the hands showing a different time from the digital display.

  6. Hold C for at least two seconds to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.
