How to operate module 5639

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Calendar Mode (normal timekeeping), pull the crown out to the second click: the second hand moves to 12 o'clock.
  2. Turn the crown to set the hour and minutes; check the 24-hour hand for a.m. (right side) or p.m. (left side).
  3. Press A and turn the crown to point the second hand at the tens digit of the year.
  4. Press A and turn the crown to point the second hand at the ones digit of the year.
  5. Press A and turn the crown to set the month.
  6. Press A: the second hand goes to 12 o'clock. Turn the crown to set the day; the function hand moves along with it.
  7. Push the crown back in on a time signal, at the top of a minute.
  8. To take the time from a paired phone instead: with the CASIO WATCHES app running, in the Calendar Mode hold B for at least 0.5 seconds and release it as soon as the second hand points to R.

Good to know

Paired with a phone running CASIO WATCHES, the watch sets itself about four times a day; setting it by hand is for when you do not use a phone.

Setting the time by hand cancels automatic summer time switching.

Turning the crown quickly a few times starts fast forward or reverse; turn it the other way or press any button to stop.

  2. On the watch, hold B for at least two seconds until the second hand points to R twice: the watch connects.
  3. In the app, follow the screen to change your Home City summer time setting.

Good to know

The watch has no button setting for summer time; it is set from the app.

Change time zone when you travel

  1. Before you leave, set the World Time (the Dual Time on the small dial) to your destination with the CASIO WATCHES app.
  2. Turn off auto time adjustment in the app: connect by holding B for at least two seconds until the second hand points to R twice, then follow the app.
  3. When you arrive, swap the Home Time and the World Time in the app (connect the same way).
  4. Turn auto time adjustment back on, then hold B for at least 0.5 seconds until the second hand points to R to adjust the time.

Auto time adjustment does not work for 24 hours after a swap.

  7. If you cannot get them right that way, press B and turn the crown until the day indicator shows 1.

Good to know

Strong magnetism or a knock can put the hands out of alignment. With a phone, the CASIO WATCHES app can also realign them.

The function hand may keep moving for about 20 minutes after the day is changed.
