Casio module 5660

Solar powered module. 5660 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 5660

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. Unscrew the crown by turning it towards you, then, in the Timekeeping Mode, pull it out: CITY flashes.
  2. Press D: HOUR-MIN flashes and the second hand points to A (a.m.) or P (p.m.).
  3. Rotate the crown to set the minutes.
  4. Press B to step on to the hour, then the year, then the month and day; rotate the crown to change each one.
  5. On a time signal at the top of a minute, push the crown back in, then screw it down.

Good to know

The watch sets itself from the time calibration signal where it can receive one; set it by hand only where it cannot.

Check the Home City first: the time is set for the city on the CITY screen.

To receive the signal now, put the watch by a window, press B until the Receive Mode shows (R/C), then hold A for at least two seconds until RC! shows. It takes about two to 10 minutes, up to 20.

To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, pull out the crown, press B five times so 12H or 24H flashes, rotate the crown to choose, and push it back in.

If nothing is done for about two minutes after pulling out the crown, it stops responding: push it in and pull it out again.

  3. Rotate the crown to cycle through AUTO (Auto DST), OFF (always standard time) and ON (always summer time).
  4. Push the crown back in and screw it down. DST shows while summer time is on.

Good to know

AUTO works only for a Home City that can receive a time signal; the signal then switches DST by itself.

  2. Rotate the crown to move the second hand to your city code.

Good to know

The watch needs the right Home City to set itself from the time signal; only some city codes can receive one.

To swap your Home City and the World Time city, hold D for at least three seconds in the World Time Mode.
