Watch Catalog

Casio module 5672

Solar powered module. 5672 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 5672

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, unscrew the crown by turning it towards you and pull it out to the second click: the second hand points to the Home City time zone.
  2. Hold C for at least one second: the second hand moves to 12 o'clock.
  3. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minutes.
  4. Press C, then rotate the crown to move the second hand to the tens digit of the year; press C again and set the ones digit the same way.
  5. Press C and rotate the crown to set the month (read on the second hand).
  6. Press C: the mode hand moves slightly. Rotate the crown to set the day.
  7. On a time signal at the top of a minute, push the crown back in and screw it down.

Good to know

Set the time by hand when the watch cannot connect with a phone (CASIO WATCHES app); select the Home City first.

To receive the time signal now, unpair the watch from any phone, put it by a window, and in the Timekeeping Mode hold D for at least 0.5 seconds until the second hand points to RC. It takes about two to 10 minutes, up to 20.

Press C after the day to go back to the hour and minutes.

Changing the day makes the mode hand spin for a while; this is normal.

Daylight saving time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click: the mode hand points to the Home City summer time setting.
  2. Hold B for at least one second to move to the next setting: STD (always standard time), DST (always summer time) or AT (auto). Repeat until the one you want shows.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it down.

Good to know

AT is offered only for a time zone that can receive a time signal; the first signal received after summer time starts or ends switches the time.

From Casio's guide, page 20

Home City time zone

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click: the second hand points to the current time zone.
  2. Rotate the crown to move the second hand to your time zone. At 12 o'clock it is UTC +0; other offsets sit to the left and right (see the City Table).
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it down.

Good to know

With the wrong time zone, the time will be off after the watch sets itself from a time signal.

To swap your Home City time and the Dual Time, hold B for at least three seconds in the Timekeeping Mode.

Set the alarm

  1. Press C until the Alarm Mode shows (the mode hand points to AL), after the Timer Mode.
  2. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first click; this switches the alarm on.
  3. Rotate the crown to set the alarm time on the small hour and minute hands; the small 24-hour hand shows a.m. or p.m.
  4. Push the crown back in and screw it down.
  5. To switch the alarm on or off, press D in the Alarm Mode: the second hand points to ON or OFF.

Good to know

The alarm sounds for 10 seconds; press any button to stop it. It is silent when the battery is low or at Level 2 power saving.

Hold C for at least one second in any mode to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Realign the hands and day

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click.
  2. Hold D for at least five seconds and release it when the second hand reaches 12 o'clock: the hour, minute, second and 24-hour hands align themselves.
  3. Press C and check that the 24-hour hand points straight up to 24; if it points down to 12, hold B for at least two seconds.
  4. Press C and check that the small hour, minute and 24-hour hands are at 12 o'clock; if not, rotate the crown to put them there.
  5. Press C and check that the mode hand stops at 12 o'clock and the day sits in the middle of its window; if not, rotate the crown to fix them.
  6. Push the crown back in and screw it down.

Good to know

If the crown cannot move the mode hand or the day far enough, press C once more and rotate the crown until the day shows 1 before pushing it in.

Left alone for about 30 minutes with the crown out, the adjustment stops; push the crown in and start again.

Strong magnetism or a knock can put the hands or the day out of line. A paired phone can also adjust them through the CASIO WATCHES app.

Light

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode or the Alarm Mode, press B to light the face.

Stopwatch

  1. Press C until the Stopwatch Mode shows (the mode hand points to ST), the mode after the Timekeeping Mode.
  2. Press B to start, B to stop, and B again to carry on.
  3. When it is stopped, press D to reset it to zero.
  4. For a split time, press D while it runs: the hands show the time so far for about five seconds.

Good to know

It counts in seconds up to 24 hours on the second hand and the small hands.

Pulling out the crown while it runs resets it to zero.

From Casio's guide, page 24

Countdown timer

  1. Press C until the Timer Mode shows (the mode hand points to TR), after the Stopwatch Mode.
  2. If a countdown is running, press B to pause it, then D to reset it to the start time; if it is paused, press D.

  4. Rotate the crown to set the start time on the small hands, in one-minute steps up to 24 hours.
  5. Push the crown back in and screw it down.
  6. Press B to start, B to pause, B to carry on; when paused, press D to reset.

Good to know

For 24 hours, put the small hour and minute hands at 12 o'clock so the small 24-hour hand is at 24.

At zero a beeper sounds for 10 seconds; press any button to stop it. It is silent when the battery is low.

From Casio's guide, page 25

Reset

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click.
  2. Hold C for at least five seconds, until the second hand points to 12 o'clock twice.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it down.

Good to know

This returns the watch settings, stopwatch, timer and alarm to factory defaults.
