Watch Catalog

Casio module 5719

Solar powered module. 5719 is the number engraved on the caseback of these watches, and Casio files its operation manual under it. 1 watch in the catalog runs on it.

How to operate module 5719

Short steps in our words. The buttons are lettered as in Casio's operation guide, where each task's page is given.

Set the time and date

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click: the second hand moves to A (a.m.) or P (p.m.).
  2. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands.
  3. Press A, then press B to change the month and turn the crown to change the day.
  4. Press A and turn the crown to set the tens digit of the year.
  5. Press A and turn the crown to set the ones digit of the year.
  6. Push the crown back in on a time signal at the top of a minute, and screw it in.

Good to know

From any other mode, hold A for at least two seconds to go to the Timekeeping Mode.

Paired with a phone running CASIO WATCHES, the watch corrects its time at around 12:30 a.m., 6:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. if left in the Timekeeping Mode; setting it by hand is for when it cannot connect to a phone.

To take the time from a paired phone now, press C: the second hand moves to R, then to C when it connects, and the time is synchronized.

Setting the time by hand on the watch cancels the automatic switching between standard time and summer time.

The day of the week follows the date by itself.

The Dual Time on the small hands moves along with the time; the crown does nothing while those hands are moving.

Turning the crown quickly several times moves the hands fast; turn it the other way or press any button to stop them.

The crown screws down: unscrew it (towards you) before pulling it out, and screw it back in (away from you) as you push it in, or the watch may lose water resistance.

From Casio's guide, page 18

Summer time

  1. On the phone, open CASIO WATCHES.
  2. On the watch, hold C for at least two seconds and keep holding it while the second hand moves to R, turns and stops at R again; it moves to C once connected.
  3. Choose the summer time setting on the phone screen: Auto, OFF or ON.

Good to know

With Auto, the watch switches between standard and summer time by itself, even when no longer connected, once it has been connected and corrected from the phone.

OFF always shows standard time and ON always shows summer time.

The watch has no summer time setting of its own; it is set only with the CASIO WATCHES app.

Setting the time by hand on the watch cancels the automatic switching.

From Casio's guide, page 13

Dual Time and swapping it with your home time

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first click: the second hand moves to 12 o'clock.
  2. Turn the crown to set the Dual Time on the small hands, in 15-minute steps.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it in.
  4. To swap your current location time with the Dual Time, for example after a flight, hold B for at least three seconds.

Good to know

Pressing B also turns on the light; keep holding it for the swap.

Only the times are swapped, not the dates.

A World Time City chosen in CASIO WATCHES, out of about 300 cities, is shown on the small hands; the app can also swap it with your home time.

Auto time correction does not run for 24 hours after a swap.

The crown screws down: unscrew it (towards you) before pulling it out, and screw it back in (away from you) as you push it in, or the watch may lose water resistance.

Set the alarm

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, press A until the mode hand points to AL, after ST and TR.
  2. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first click: this switches the alarm on.
  3. Turn the crown to set the alarm time on the small hands.
  4. Push the crown back in and screw it in.
  5. Press A once, or hold it for two seconds, to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

In the Alarm Mode, press D to switch the alarm on or off; the second hand points to ON or OFF.

The alarm beeps for 10 seconds; press any button to stop it.

The alarm does not sound when the battery is low, in Level 2 power saving, or while the crown is pulled out.

The watch goes back from the Alarm Mode to the Timekeeping Mode by itself after about two or three minutes without an operation.

You can also set the alarm with the CASIO WATCHES app.

Realign the hands and day indicator

  1. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first click.
  2. Hold D for at least five seconds: the second hand makes one full turn. Turn the crown to put it on 12 o'clock.
  3. Press A and turn the crown to put the hour and minute hands on 12 o'clock.
  4. Press A and turn the crown until the battery level indicator shows three dark sectors between three light ones.
  5. Press A and turn the crown to put the small hour and minute hands on 12 o'clock and the small 24-hour hand on 24.
  6. Press A and turn the crown to put the mode hand on S.
  7. Press A and turn the crown until 1 is in the center of the day indicator, with the mode hand on S.
  8. Push the crown back in and screw it in.

Good to know

Strong magnetism or impact can knock the hands or the day indicator out of alignment.

If the watch shows the wrong time even though it connects with a phone, realign the hands; this can also be done with the CASIO WATCHES app.

If the crown stays out for about 30 minutes without an operation, adjustment is disabled: push the crown in and start again. Pushing it in part way through keeps what you have aligned so far.

Light

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode or the Alarm Mode, press B to light the face for about 1.5 seconds.

Good to know

The light goes off by itself when the alarm starts to sound, and does not work while the hands move at high speed.

From Casio's guide, page 11

Stopwatch

  2. Press B to start, B to stop, and B again to resume.

  4. When it is stopped, press D to reset it to zero.
  5. Press A three times, or hold it for two seconds, to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

It counts in 1-second steps up to 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds.

Up to 100 split times can be taken in one measurement.

The watch cannot connect with a phone while the stopwatch is running, and the day indicator does not change while it runs.

From Casio's guide, page 21

Countdown timer

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, press A twice: the mode hand points to TR.
  2. If the timer is running, press B to pause it, then D to reset it to the start time.
  3. Unscrew the crown, pull it out to the first click and turn it to set the start time, then push it back in and screw it in.
  4. Press B to start; press B again to pause.
  5. Press A twice, or hold it for two seconds, to go back to the Timekeeping Mode.

Good to know

The start time is set in 1-minute steps up to 24 hours; for 24 hours, put the small hour and minute hands on 12 o'clock so the small 24-hour hand is on 24.

At zero it beeps for 10 seconds; press any button to stop it. It does not beep when the battery is low.

You can also set the start time with the CASIO WATCHES app.

From Casio's guide, page 22

Factory reset

  1. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second click.
  2. Hold C for at least five seconds: the second hand moves to 12 o'clock.
  3. Push the crown back in and screw it in.

Good to know

This clears the stopwatch, sets the timer to 10 minutes and the alarm to 12:00 midnight and off, turns the operation tone on and sets the app connection time to 3 minutes.

To delete the pairing information from the watch, pull the crown out to the second click, hold D for at least five seconds until the second hand points to 12 o'clock, then push the crown back in. Delete the watch in the CASIO WATCHES app as well before pairing again.
